School’s Out Day Camps for the 2025-26 School Year
Participants will have a blast at our all-new School’s Out drop-off day camps! Each day will be filled with animal encounters, guided hikes, science experiments, nature crafts, and so much more. Strawberry Hill’s School’s Out drop-off day camps are a great option for working families who are looking for fun activities for their kids while school is out.
For ages 5-8. Each camp day runs from 9am-4pm and includes snack time. Participants will provide their own lunch. $55/child with 10% multi-day discount. To register, click here.
A minimum of 5 participants is required to hold each School’s Out Day Camp days. If the minimum number of participants for each day is not met, Strawberry Hill reserves the right to cancel that day’s program. Parents will be notified no less than two weeks ahead of time.
Fall
Monday, October 13th - Wilderness Survival
Join us for a day of outdoor survival adventure! Participants will learn outdoor survival skills that can keep them safe if they ever find that they have lost their way including how to properly prepare for an outdoor adventure. They will learn skills such as basic navigation, shelter building, fire building and safety, water collection and filtering, how to use the resources around them to help them survive, and even tackle a survivalist challenge!
Winter
Monday, January 19th - Wilderness Survival, Winter Edition
Winter is a tough season to be lost in the woods. The skills needed to survive are very different than any other time of year. Do you have what it takes to make it? Join us for an epic day of outdoor learning how to survive even the harshest Pennsylvania winter. We’ll learn to identify signs of hypothermia, fire building and safety, how to build snow shelters, foraging for winter edibles, and so much more!
Monday, February 16th - The UnHuggables
Hug a spider? No way! Cuddle a skunk? Ewww…. All animals need a little love even if they are unhuggable. We’ll meet some of Strawberry Hill’s most notoriously misunderstood and most unhuggable creatures and learn what we can do to show them a little love by being good stewards to the environment. We’ll enjoy a day of hiking the winter trails, explore tracking winter creatures, and discovering what it means to be a friend of the forest.
Friday, November 7th - Autumn All Around
The days are growing colder and fall is in full swing! Join us for a day of nature exploration as we discover how the forest is preparing for the coming winter. We’ll meet some Strawberry Hill Animal Ambassadors and learn how their individual species prepare for the long, cold winter months. We’ll go on a scavenger hunt and participate in team-building activities that are sure to be a blast!
Friday, March 13th - Geology Rocks!
Who doesn’t love stuffing their pockets with cool rocks? Join us for a day of science and fun as we learn how to identify rocks and minerals by using observations and experiments. We’ll learn the basics of the rock cycle and how these natural resources influence and affect our daily lives. Participants will make rock crafts and take home the beginnings of their very own rock collection!
Monday, December 22nd - Solstice Celebration
What does the solstice mean for the forest? Join us for a day of wintery fun as we discover how the frosty days help the forest rest before the spring. Participants will hike, play winter games, and warm up by the campfire with s’mores and hot cocoa. We’ll also make bird treats and tree decorations as we explore the history and science behind the solstice.
