Pottery Workshops with Jack Handshaw • children age 5 & up, adults
Shape works of art from raw redware clay and use natural objects to decorate your work. Each class will focus on a different project (first, vase and tile; second, coiled basket and wall basket; third, mask). Sign up for one class or all three! The fee for each class (including clay and firing) is $15 for members, $20 for non-members. Space is limited; please register early.   Email Registration Option

The birds are quieting down, but the insect symphony is getting into high gear. Enjoy a relaxing evening walk listening to these talented musicians. Register by August 20. Members, free; nonmembers $3.75.   Email Registration Option

Summer’s End Picnic and Annual Members Meeting • all ages
Come and celebrate the last days of summer with the wonderful Strawberry Hill family at our annual picnic. We’ll begin the afternoon with an hourlong birding presentation for the grownups while the kids take part in a nature program with Mr. Eddy. Following delicious light picnic fare and beverages, we’ll conduct our annual members meeting, including the election of a new governing board. At around 6:30 Eddy will offer his Harvest Moon Walk. After attending the End-of-Summer picnic, enjoy a walk on the trails by the light of the Harvest Moon. Register by September 12. Free to all.   Email Registration Option

Exhibit at the Heritage Festival • all ages
The Heritage Festival at the Gettysburg Rec Park on Long Lane offers great food, music, and an array of fun free activities for all ages. Strawberry Hill will be there with some of our friendly live animals.

September 27; 10 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Macroinvertebrate Workshop • age 15 & up
Learn to assess a stream’s health by studying the tiny animals that live in it. Sponsored by the Watershed Alliance of Adams County. Register by September 23. Free to all.   Email Registration Option

November 7; 6 to 10 p.m.
Annual Auction Dinner • adults
Silent and live auction action plus a delicious meal in the Grand Ballroom of the Gettysburg Hotel. Good food, good company, and good times—for a great cause!

Registration is required for all programs. To register, call (717) 642-5840 or follow the email link provided. To reserve your spot for Maple Sugaring, please call at least two weeks prior to the date you wish to attend. This program has limited space and is often sold out in advance.
